The crossing over
And so the knower of the Self, having crossed beyond the round of birth and death, attains the bliss of Brahman here, in this very life. 'The knower of the Self crosses sorrow,' so says the śruti. 'Whether he lays down the body in Kāśī or in the house of a dog-eater, at the moment knowledge is gained he is freed, his old tendencies gone,' so says the smṛti as well. Here ends the treatise Tattva Bodha, set down by the revered Śaṅkara Bhagavatpāda.
And so the knower of the Self, having crossed beyond saṃsāra, attains the bliss of Brahman in this very life. The śruti says, 'The knower of the Self crosses over sorrow.' And the smṛti says, 'Whether he leaves the body in Kāśī or in the house of an outcaste, at the moment knowledge is attained he is liberated, his latent tendencies gone.' Thus ends the treatise Tattva Bodha, composed by the revered Śaṅkara Bhagavatpāda Ācārya.
